The Met Office has issued a red wind warning valid from 1300 to 2100 today. A severe low pressure system is tracking north over Ireland bringing the worst of the winds to Lundy, Fastnet and the Irish Sea areas.
Hurricane force 12 winds are IMMINENT for the Irish Sea. This hurricane will move steadily north over the next 9 hours to reach Scotland around 9pm. The wind will quickly subside after midnight but the sea state will remain very high for the following 12-18 hours.
